Death Cab is currently taking a break from touring for some much need rest and then to record their next album. Much thanks to everyone who showed up over their last fourteen months of touring.
i don't want to be accused of spamming or make this too terribly long, but please check out the website and watch the video. This is real life and you can help, just by camping out in a park for a day.
I noticed Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls) just put up an excellent cover of Death Cab For Cutie's "I Will Follow You Into The Dark" on her solo MySpace...it's well, well worth checking out/downloading. I've always loved that song, and really liked what she did with it...check it out HERE...
(By the way, not sure how many of you are familiar with Amanda or The Dolls, but they're absolutely amazing -- one of my favorite bands, even...if you dig the DCFC cover, they've also been covering "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service live for a few years -- there's a download of that available HERE on The Brigade -- their live/rarities MP3 archive)
Mine's "Styrfoam Plates." I didn't have much of a father either. Even though I want to see if we can keep in touch and patch things up, it's still cathartic to sing along to "You're a disgrace to the concept of family!"
does anyone have the acoustic version mp3 of ben gibbard singing "the dream of evan and chan". i think it was from a kexp recording. its the best live recording of that song. i have two other recordings from the bowery ballroom and some other benefit, but those arent high quality. does anyone have it to share?
I went to the last show of the tour last night in Seattle. Of course, it was amazing. I went their show last year at the paramount, too. Last year, I was fortunate enough to acctually meet Ben Gibbard and Chris Walla because my step-sister knows John Roderick (of The Long Winters) who is quite good friends with them. Although that was amazingly exciting and beyond cool, I'd have to say that this show was much better. Their light system was extremely better than last year, and they acctually got to play some old songs too! And not to mention, the amazing Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins! I was also really excited that Ben did his drum solo this year. That was pretty fucking cool.
So, to sum it all up, that was about the best concert I've ever been to even though my seats weren't the greatest.
hey! so i went to the show at the UCI Bren Center on Dec 5, 2006 with Jenny Lewis & the Watson twins opening for Death cab & i was wondering if anyone knows the setlist for that concert? thanks! that would be *sooo helpful!
hey death cab fans!! i'm a new member to the community =) i just went to their show at madison square garden in NYC last night... it was AMAZING! i loved how they mixed it up and played material from a lot of albums!
does anyone happen to have a setlist from this show? i'm at a loss for remembering all the stuff they played... although i do have like 16 songs i distinctly remember.

I am a student teacher, teaching a unit on poetry to some high school students, and I want to use a Death Cab for Cutie song to get the whole poetry thing rolling.
Problem is, I have to know the names of the authors of Crooked Teeth, so that I can credit them for it. I'd rather use their individual names than the name of the band, especially since I don't know if one of the members does most of the writing, or if they all collaborate. Even if they all have a hand in writing, I'll need their names.
Anyway, long story short, I can't find liner notes online anywhere. Can someone give me the name(s) of the author(s) of Crooked Teeth?
Hey everyone. I was just wondering, do any of you guys have screen caps of the bunnies from the I Will Follow You Into the Dark video? Or large pictures of the bunnies? I'm planning to get a tattoo of them sometime and I'm going to need a clear picture. Thanks :)
Howdy. A while back, I think it was at the end of last year, someone posted a whole bunch over covers that the boys have done. My computer has been wiped since I downloaded them, so I've lost them :(. I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to reupload them for me? Please? I'll give you coookies and SFs. <3
